Royal Navy Staggerwing FT478

By Celia Vanderpool

ISBN 978-1-7325038-1-6  Royal Navy Staggerwing FT478

This book traces the aircraft’s return from war, through the hands of several owners, until a devastating accident nearly ended the tale.  However, one man came forward and with determined dedication, saw to the complete rebuilding of the aircraft and the return to the air, flying once more in the Royal Navy livery. A new generation may appreciate this fine warbird at airshows around the United States today, and appreciate the artistic complexity of the design, built of wood, aluminum and fabric. It was the fastest, most unique airplane of that decade and the first production model from the Beech Aircraft Company.
